Collapsible core molds provide an innovative and highly efficient solution for molding plastic components with complex internal geometries. By collapsing inward before ejection, these cores eliminate the need for complex and space-consuming stripping mechanisms. Collapsible Cores for Tubular & Round Plastic Parts

Ideal for components requiring internal circular grooves or internal threads. Compared to bulky mechanical unscrewing setups, collapsible cores take up significantly less space within the mold base. This allows for higher cavitation in smaller machines.

Mechanism & Structure
Segmented Design: The mechanism consists of a central main core connected to 3, 6, or 8 collapsible outer segments. These segments are securely joined using precision dovetail joints or T-slot joints.

Folding Stages: Depending on the diameter of the part's opening, the core can be engineered for a single-stage collapse or a 2-stage collapse. The 2-stage folding mechanism is specifically designed for safely extracting parts with smaller exit diameters.

Core Pulling & Actuation
The core pulling action can be customized based on your specific mold layout.

Hydraulic Actuation: Controlled by lateral hydraulic cylinders for powerful and precise movement.

Plate-Driven Actuation: Driven by the mechanical opening movement between mold plates. This setup can be integrated into either the fixed half (cavity) or the moving half (core) of the mold.

Control Requirement: To safely separate the core from the molded product without causing damage, all actuation methods strictly rely on precise sequential control mechanisms.

While tailored for different shapes, rectangular collapsible cores operate on the exact same fundamental principles as our round cores. Instead of radial segments, the mechanism utilizes precisely machined square or rectangular slider blocks that collapse inward simultaneously, smoothly releasing the internal undercuts on all four interior walls.
